Design the thumbnails that decide whether a great episode gets seen. Packaging is half the product at Gupdav.
About Gupdav
Gupdav is a full-service podcast production and growth agency. We run the content engines behind shows for Aakash Gupta, Atlassian, Tony Greer, Andrew Baxter, and more: 10,000+ videos created, 100M+ views, 5M+ hours watched. Clients show up and record; we do everything else. We are a small, remote, high-trust team where your work ships to real audiences every single week.
The role
On YouTube, the thumbnail-title pair earns the click before a single second of the episode plays. You will own that first impression for every show on our roster: concepting, designing, and testing thumbnails that win against the best packaging on the platform.
What you will own
- Thumbnails for every episode across our client shows, from concept to final export.
- A/B variants and iteration based on click-through data, not opinions.
- Packaging direction with the content team: title and thumbnail designed as one unit.
- Visual consistency per show: each client has a recognizable thumbnail language you maintain and evolve.
What we expect
- A portfolio of thumbnails that performed. CTR numbers and view counts speak louder than pretty grids.
- Mastery of Photoshop, strong compositing and cut-out work, clean typography at small sizes.
- You study the YouTube home feed like an editor studies films. You know why a thumbnail wins.
- Fast, reliable turnarounds on a weekly production cycle.
Bonus points
- You have designed for podcasts, creators, or B2B brands.
- Basic motion or 3D skills for occasional launch assets.
How we hire
- Apply with your portfolio and a few lines on why this role.
- We review every application within a week and reply either way.
- Shortlisted candidates get a small paid test task, real work, not a puzzle.
- A call with the founder to talk craft, expectations, and compensation.
- Offer. Most candidates go from application to decision in under two weeks.
